Auschwitz-Birkenau and Wieliczka Salt Mine Tour from Krakow
The Auschwitz-Birkenau and Wieliczka Salt Mine tour from Krakow is one of the most popular day trips for visitors who want to see two of Poland’s most important historical sites in a single day. This tour combines a visit to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum with a guided exploration of the UNESCO-listed Wieliczka Salt Mine, located just outside Krakow.
The day begins with a visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau, the former Nazi concentration and extermination camp that has become one of the most important memorial sites in the world. During the guided tour you will learn about the history of the camp, see the preserved barracks, watchtowers and railway ramp, and understand the events that took place here during World War II.
After the visit to Auschwitz, the tour continues to the Wieliczka Salt Mine, one of the oldest salt mines in Europe and a UNESCO World Heritage site. The underground tourist route leads through historic tunnels, chambers and chapels carved entirely from salt. The highlight of the visit is the impressive St. Kinga’s Chapel, a vast underground church decorated with chandeliers, sculptures and altars made from rock salt.
This Auschwitz and Wieliczka tour from Krakow includes transportation, entry tickets and guided tours at both sites, making it one of the most convenient ways to experience two of the most famous attractions in southern Poland in a single day.
